Kristin is a Preschool Music and Movement Teacher for the Children’s Aid Society at the Philip Coltoff Center. Her age and seasonally-appropriate curriculum includes the musical genres of classical, folk, Motown, Broadway, Jazz, and Rock. Children move through a wide variety of activities; building their confidence in linguistic, locomotor, listening, and teamwork skills.

Kristin has proudly served as a music consultant at West Side Montessori School in NYC, where she trains teachers and develops curriculum to include school-wide sing-alongs, musical instruments, movement, improvisation, and the music of many cultures. The photo above shows a class project for which children built guitars from cereal boxes, rubber bands, and paper towel rolls. Not only did these children practice their small-movement coordination and explore their aesthetic sensibilities, but they got to “rock out” for weeks afterward to guitar music from around the globe.

Kristin is also a Music Together teacher for Music Play Studios in Hoboken, NJ, and the surrounding areas. Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music program for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and the adults who love them. First offered to the public in 1987, it pioneered the concept of a research-based, developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum that strongly emphasizes and facilitates adult involvement. Kristin’s classes have been held at the Wee Care Occupational Therapy Center , A Whole New World Academy, and the Newport Swim and Fitness Center.
